Autism Answers Back

Starting with Intention

file_00000000dd6861f8a5c76022c5ae1f51 I’ve launched Autism Answers Back with no social accounts, no announcement thread and no pressure to publish fast. But this isn’t silence. It’s something more deliberate than that.

I’m starting with listening, with clarity about what this project is — and what it isn’t.

I didn’t create this site to shout at researchers. I created it to ask the questions they rarely ask themselves or get asked. I’ll be translating academic autism research into plain language, highlighting the assumptions baked into its framing and respectfully challenging the idea that autistic people are problems to be solved.

That kind of work doesn’t need a loud debut. It needs a foundation. This — right now — is that foundation.

The first critiques will come soon. So will the questions. And when they do, they won’t be performative or sensational. They’ll be careful. Focused. Uncomfortable in the best possible way.

This is the groundwork — slow, steady and meant to last.

Respectfully,
Jaime Ramón Criado
